Memorial Day 2011 Offering Project Announced

Dear Friends of the Ohio Bible Mission,

We are thankful to announce that Mr. Izaac VanderSchel will begin his full-time efforts as OBM Program Director at Peniel Bible Camp at the end of this summer. We are encouraged by how the Lord is providing the support from individuals and churches and prayerfully look forward to him coming to full support within the next year.

To facilitate his transition, we have set a Memorial Day Conference offering goal of $8000. This will allow us to make modifications to the largest A-frame cabin that will serve as his house. In addition, we will purchase a golf cart to further enable his on-site ministry. We ask that our churches and individuals prayerfully consider how they could help in meeting this goal.

Izaac still needs regular support of $500-$1000 per month from our camp churches. If you have not done so already, you are encouraged to schedule a meeting at your church where he can present his burden and vision for the work. You can contact him directly to schedule a meeting at pdirector@obf.net.

We are thankful for the VanderSchels contributions to the ministry at Peniel and look forward to how the Lord will use them in the future. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

For His glory,
Donald Gallion
President, Ohio Bible Mission

Preparing the camp property for the 2011 season (a.k.a. Camp Clean-up)

Several groups of people have made the trip to Peniel Bible Camp this month in order to serve the Lord through the task of cleaning.

Since our buildings are mostly closed up for the winter months, when spring arrives buildings have to be opened up and cleaned out. There are buildings to vacuum, windows to wash, surfaces to dust, leaves to rake, sticks to clear off paths, etc. In other words, there is work for anyone with a heart to serve.

And all this needs to be completed in the next 10 days as our camping season commences with the Father/Son Retreat April 29-30.

Will you help? Contact Camp Superintendent, Jerry Edinger to see what needs to be done and to let him know of your availability to serve. Then grab your cleaning supplies, pack a lunch, and head over to Camp.

We appreciate all those who labor with us at Peniel Bible Camp!

Early April Update

As the weather warms in central Ohio, our thoughts go to CAMP! And, rightfully so, as our 2011 camping season begins this month!
  • Camp Clean-up has already begun. Help is needed to clean the camp and prepare for the camping season. Anyone willing to help is welcome to come. Next Saturday, April 16, is an officially scheduled clean-up day, with several churches and groups planning to attend and clean various areas around camp. However, if you are unable to come that day and are available another day, we certainly would not turn you away! Contact the camp superintendent for information on the areas that need to be cleaned. Bring cleaning supplies (i.e. window cleaner, paper towels, dust cloths, shop-vac, etc) and a picnic lunch along with you. Clean for several hours in the morning and then enjoy a picnic lunch.
  • Two hundred twelve  (212) youth campers took advantage of the early registration discount this year.
  •  Several of our youth camps look as though they may be filled this year. If you are planning to attend one of Peniel's youth camps, please do not wait until the last minute to register. You may end up disappointed -- with your name on a waiting list. ***Teen 1 Girls: there are only 8 bunks left!***
  • The Father/Son Retreat is coming up in less than 3 weeks (April 29-30). Don't miss out on this special weekend for boys of all ages. Make your plans to be a part of this weekend and get your registration in the mail as soon as possible.
